My best tip is to tweet manually. I use no automation at all with the exception of on some of my pages. It has a script that will retweet when someone downloads my free report. Aside from that I’m not using Hootsuite or any other device to tweet my own name. With my niche sites some of them are automated as we discussed in the RSS module for ping.fm for that auto tweeting.
I remember seeing a guy on stage a super social media authority with over a thousand followers talking about Twitter and while he was on stage his tweet streams keeps posting and posting and posting. As my friend Dean Hunt would say, ‘That’s just like sending a mannequin off to a dinner party’ you’re not getting much of a result.
This is the age to be real. This is the age to have your voice and be genuine so I manually tweet and people know it.
